On April 29, the LGBTI Core Group of the Organization of American States, in partnership with the Department of Social Inclusion of the OAS, hosted the webinar “Challenges of LGBTI Persons in Human Mobility.” The event was supported by Synergía. The Permanent Representative of Costa Rica before the OAS, Ambassador Alejandra Solano Cabalceta, gave the opening remarks on behalf of the Core Group.
The panel, moderated by Betilde Muñoz-Pogossian, Director of the Department of Social Inclusion, featured Milton Moreno (Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees), Giovanni Molinares (Caribe Afirmativo), Fanny Gomez Lugo (Women’s Equality Center), Caleb Orozco (UniBAM), Phil Crehan (Open for Business), Aleks Selim Dughman Manzur (Rainbow Refugee). Maricarmen Plata, Secretary for Access to Rights and Equity of the OAS, and Stefano Fabeni, Synergía’s Executive Director, provided closing remarks.
