Synergía and PUICA host webinar on gender identity recognition in the CARICOM

The OAS Universal Civil Identity Program in the Americas and Synergía hosted on February 24th a webinar on “Legal Recognition of Gender Identity and the Implementation of the Advisory Opinion 24/17 in the CARICOM countries,” with support of the Mission of Canada to the OAS. Speakers were Ambassador Hugh Adsett, Permanent Representative of Canada to the OAS; Rebeca Omaña Peñaloza, PUICA Coordinator; Commissioner Roberta Clarke, Rapporteur on the Rights of LGBTI persons of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights; Westmin James, Lecturer in Law at the University of West Indies; Veronica Álvarez Nuñez, OAS Consultant; and Alexus D’Marco, Executive Director
