The Organization of the American States, represented by the Secretary General Luis Almagro and Synergía, on behalf of the LGBTTTI and Sex Workers Coalition of Latin America and the Caribbean before the OAS, represented by Synergía’s Executive Director Stefano Fabeni, signed a Cooperation Agreement on February 8th, 2022. The signature ceremony took place at the OAS Headquarters in Washington, D.C. at the presence of Ambassador Alejandra Solano Cabalceta, Permanent Representative of Costa Rica before the OAS, representing the OAS LGBTI Core Group, and Minister Fabrizio Petri, Special Envoy of Italy on the Human Rights of LGBTI people in the world.
The landmark Agreement, that sets the ground for special cooperation between the parties, constitutes yet another tool for the advancement of the human rights of LGBTI persons and sex workers in the Americas.
